To give the false appearance of a higher level of protein. It is said that 1 liter of milk with melamine and water can produce 4 liters of milk!.
Aside from milk and milk products, are there more food products that contained melamine?
Chinese animal feed with melamine was reported way back in 2007.For the first time in April 2007, the US FDA admitted that melamine had been detected in feed given to animals raised for human consumption within the United States.
In May of the same year, the US Department of Agriculture reported that between 2.5 and 3 million people in the United States had consumed chickens that had consumed feed containing contaminated vegetable protein from China.
Vegetable proteins imported from China, intended for human or animal consumption includes:
- Wheat Gluten
- Rice Gluten
- Rice Protein
- Rice Protein Concentrate
- Corn Gluten
- Corn Gluten Meal
- Corn By-Products
- Soy Protein
- Soy Gluten
- Proteins (includes amino acids and protein hydrosylates)
- Mung Bean Protein
What can you get from Melamine?
- Reproductive damage
- Bladder or kidney stonesĀ which can lead to bladder cancer.
The FDA stated that there is a “distinct possibility” that the food was intentionally contaminated. Imagine a fertilizer being added on your milk? The companies doing this know that they’re adding toxic, much worst, they’re adding it to babies milk formula.
Again, Why melamine is being added on milk?
People do it for the sake of money!
